What Do Make-ups Do To Our Skin?

Being gorgeous in every way at all times is the objective of competitive women today. It is very important to be pretty inside but we can’t really discount the benefits looking our best. Therefore there are times that wearing cosmetics is a must. This fact presents trouble to us who happen to have an acne-prone type of skin. So does acne-proof cosmetics do exists? Let’s take a look at what make-up are in general, what it does to our skin (aside from making pretty) and the current cosmetic hypes claiming healthier types of make-ups.

Make up clogs pores. Applying make-up blocks the pores in your skin preventing it breath. From our previous article, I have mentioned that clogging of pores triggers the production of acne. Also, allowing your skin lot oxygen is important to prevent wrinkles. Without oxygen the cells die.

It’s a source of irritants. A lot of make ups have harmful chemicals that irritate the skin and triggers acne. When a chemical is mixed with other chemicals, most often, it will create a reaction that is not at all beneficial to the skin.

It can be a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Many types of make-ups are oil-based, which is the best place for acne bacteria to live and multiply. Aside from acne bacteria, make-up sponges and applicator can easily get in contact with germs, which is yet another thing to contribute in acne’s proliferation.

Make-ups can be cancerous. It does not just irritate the skin and create pimples, most of them also has chemicals that can cause certain types of cancer. There have been numerous studies about make-up carcinogens that are present both in cheap and high-end brands.

Make-ups are invented to make us more pretty. It covers our blemishes and imperfections, trying to forge a perfectly smooth skin. However, if we would focus on skin health, more likely we are bound to have the natural youthful glow of a smooth skin. And make-ups can be an occasional thing and no longer an essential part of our daily needs.
